The Neonatology Unit at Hospital Angeles Morelia  committed to providing the highest quality care, expertise, safety, and warmth to newborns from the hospital’s maternity wards or those transferred from other hospitals.

The unit offers services including a physiological nursery, intensive care, intermediate care, a growth and development area, an isolation room, and a lactation room. It operates 24 hours a day, every day of the year. It is staffed around the clock by neonatologists and specialized nurses, who work closely with the patient’s attending physician.

The sections within the unit provide close, continuous care for newborns in the Physiological Nursery and in the transition cribs, as well as support for breastfeeding.

The Neonatal Intensive Care, Intermediate Care, Isolation, and Growth and Development units enable modern, highly specialized neonatal care, as they are equipped with vital sign monitors, oxygen saturation monitors, and devices for recording arterial circulatory parameters and blood gas levels. The unit is equipped with conventional and high-frequency ventilators, safe equipment for the use of nitric oxide in the treatment of respiratory distress in preterm infants, as well as continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) systems for moderate cases of respiratory distress. Additionally, it features modern incubators.
