Cardiology Center - Diagnostic Center
Our Coronary Angiography unit allows us to evaluate the coronary arteries, as the name suggests. We have a medical team specializing in radiology that uses state-of-the-art technology to obtain detailed images of the heart and arteries, enabling us to detect and evaluate heart conditions such as coronary artery disease and arterial blockages.
Coronary CT angiography is a noninvasive medical procedure that uses computed tomography technology to produce detailed images of the heart's coronary arteries.
Coronary CT angiography is primarily used to assess the presence of blockages or narrowing in the coronary arteries, which may indicate coronary artery disease or an increased risk of heart disease.
During a coronary CT angiography, a contrast dye is injected into the patient's veins to highlight the coronary arteries in the images. Multiple high-resolution images of the heart and coronary arteries are then taken using a CT scanner.
No, coronary CT angiography is not painful. The procedure is quick and non-invasive, which means it does not require surgery or incisions. Some patients may experience a warm sensation or mild discomfort when the contrast dye is administered.
The total time required for a coronary CT angiogram is usually about 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the patient’s preparation and cooperation. After the procedure, the patient can resume normal activities immediately.
